Tissot and the NBA · A Decade on the Clock

Since 2015, every NBA possession has run on a Tissot clock. The partnership enters its second decade with a new Shot Clock, a new chronograph, and the same quiet claim: precision, proven in public.

Basketball gives a team twenty-four seconds. The number governs every decision on the floor, from the opening tip to the final buzzer, and it is read from one instrument. Players, officials, coaches, and every spectator in the arena look at the same clock at the same moment, and the game turns on what it says.

That instrument carries a Swiss name. For a watchmaker, there is no more exacting place to put one.

The Official Timekeeper

A maison that becomes Official Timekeeper does not sponsor a game. It stands behind a number that cannot be argued with afterwards.

Tissot has held that role across the NBA, the WNBA, and the NBA G League since 2015. The commitment is renewed every possession, in a sport where a fraction of a second decides a shot, a game, or a season. There is no softer form of the claim.

The clock is either right or it is not.

The maison holds the same position at MotoGP and the Tour de France. Three disciplines, three forms of speed, one instrument of record. It is a deliberate way for a Swiss watchmaker to be seen, and it says more about the house than any campaign could.

A Decade Beyond the Clock

The Shot Clock has become an instrument in its own right. The latest generation of the NBA Timing System and the new Tissot Shot Clock introduce a round design, an integrated Coach Challenge display, and full RGB LED light strips, with an interface redrawn for faster operation. The object above the backboard now carries as much design intent as the piece on the wrist.

The partnership has also followed the game beyond North America. Tissot is Presenting Partner of the NBA Paris Games, Associate Partner of the NBA China Games, and a partner of BUDX NBA House in India. From Paris to Shanghai and Mumbai, the brand meets the sport where its audience has grown.

Ambassadors of the Game

The partnership is carried by athletes whose careers rest on the same principles as watchmaking: dedication, discipline, and consistency over time.

Tissot's NBA ambassadors are Tony Parker, Damian Lillard, Yang Hansen, and Moritz and Franz Wagner. A legend of the league, an established icon, and the leading figures of a new generation, each with a different route to the same standard.

The Chronograph

Those same principles take physical form on the wrist. The newest NBA timepiece takes the court's grammar and renders it in one colour. A monochromatic grey aesthetic, drawn from technical sportswear and modern basketball culture, replaces the expected team palette with restraint.
