The introduction of Swiss solar quartz technology to the Pontos line represents a considered evolution for a collection long associated with technical rigour and water-oriented performance.

The Pontos S Solar is offered in two configurations: a three-hand date reference powered by the Ronda 215 calibre, and a chronograph variant housing the Ronda 2040.D. Both movements are designed and developed in Switzerland, and both deliver a standard of accuracy and durability that distinguishes solar quartz from conventional battery-dependent alternatives.

Movement & Autonomy

The solar quartz architecture eliminates the battery replacement cycle entirely. At full charge, the three-hand Pontos S Solar delivers eight months of autonomy; the chronograph variant provides five months. Energy is drawn through the smoked dial, which transmits light to the solar cell beneath. The same light that powers the movement activates the Super-LumiNova display, an intuitive system in which the minute hand and the first fifteen minutes of the bezel emit blue, whilst the hour hand, indexes, and remaining markers illuminate in green. The result is an unambiguous visual hierarchy, legible in daylight and in full darkness.
